Reaching energies of 100 TeV in a future proton collider will require innovative superconducting magnets that generate a magnetic field twice as high as that achieved by the current LHC magnets. This research and the innovations developed within the framework of the FCC study will contribute to their large-scale dissemination and could lead to numerous applications in various fields. Besides the present and sustained need for medical and scientific applications that would not be possible without superconductors, fields related to the ongoing energy transition could see the widespread use of superconductors in the near future.
