AT THE HEART OF ANY PARTICLE ACCELERATOR IS A RADIOFREQUENCY SYSTEM
This system supplies energy to the beams of charged particles as they pass through the radiofrequency cavities. Increasing the efficiency of these accelerating structures is crucial for future high-performance particle colliders. This is also one of the main R&D activities being carried out as part of the FCC study. The development of high-efficiency radiofrequency cavities opens up the prospect of applications in many fields, including the automotive industry, aviation and the use of accelerators for medical or communication technologies.
